Ski Guiding and Instruction

The emphasis is on adventure when you ski with us, but you don't have to be an expert or even an advanced off-piste skier. Days out are tailored to suit the experience and ability of the client - from those who are off-piste novices to competitive freeriders. Consult our ski grading link to ascertain your level.

Ski Instruction

This season we are offering specialist ski instruction to improve both on and off piste technique.

Skiing with EMG

We offer Heli-skiing, multi-day ski-touring, off-piste courses and guiding. You may hire us privately or join an existing group.

The key to good skiing in the Alps is flexibility, and we would encourage our clients to be prepared to travel with us to wherever the best conditions exist. By helicopter or by foot, the opportunities to find fresh tracks rise exponentially if you are prepared to travel 40 minutes from the top of a ski lift. In the last two seasons we have guided over two hundred days of powder skiing within an hour of Chamonix.

Off-Piste Clinics and Groups

EMG will attempt to run an off-piste group ski clinic every  weekend during the winter season. These are all day sessions starting at 9.00am, we concentrate on skiing steep terrain and finding the best untracked snow. Please come equipped with shovel, probe, pack, transceiver, water, sandwich, skins. If you do not possess a transceiver we can provide one. The cost is 100€ for the whole day.

Heliskiing

EMG has a contract with Valgrisenche Heliski which enables us to provide first rate Heliskiing using our own guides at a reasonable cost. A single drop heliski tour on the Testa del Rutoor skiing to La Joux (near La Thuille) is 1,725€ including the guide, a heli pick up and transport to and from Valgrisenche. A triple-drop day and heli pick up including transport to Valgrisenche is 3,150€. The heli takes up to 5 clients plus the guide.

Ski Touring

As well as the popular ski touring routes, such as the Vallée Blanche, our guides use hundreds of lesser known, equally magnificent routes in the Alps where you can spend the whole day without spotting a soul.

The multi-day routes, such as the Chamonix to Zermatt Haute Route, are an achievement and a real adventure. They offer spectacular scenery, hard ascents, exciting descents, and great conviviality, with evenings spent with other skiers in mountain refuges.
