EMG is based in Chamonix because it has some of the best climbing and off-piste skiing in the world right on our doorstep, and from here we are well placed to work all over the Western Alps. We operate in the Bernese Oberland, Verbier, Courmayer, Zermatt as well as the proximate resorts of Megeve, St Germain and Les Contamines. Away from the Alps, we have particular experience in Alaska, Greenland, New Zealand, Japan, Norway, the Andes and the Himalayas. Phil Ashby and Mark Thomas are IFMGA guides with many years of experience.
In addition to Phil and Mark, EMG has another fifteen or so guides, ski instructors and IML's with whom we work regularly, some of whom you can see on the about us pages. We have guides from France, Spain, the USA and Italy in addition to our British colleagues. We can handle large enterprises if necessary.
Our goal is to provide clients with a real adventure, in the safest manner and tailored to their ambitions. Be you beginner or experienced, you will be surprised how much you can achieve with the right direction and assistance. We want to help you learn the skills and the confidence to get the most out of yourself. If this sounds a little bit like a boot camp mentality, let us reassure you that the main thing is to have fun!

Will also manages Eira Ski Lodge which is situated in the Val d'Aran region of the Pyrenees, an area that provides plenty of challenges for fans of off-piste or heli-skiing. This newly renovated lodge in the village of Tanau makes a great base for groups of up to 16 and has eight comfortable bedrooms, all en suite, four of which are duplexes with private sitting rooms on the ground floor.
